A new project gained attention at the LIWA International Festival in Abu Dhabi, UAE, in December 2023, as our retractable greenhouse roof system “HS²” was introduced. The installation, consisting of a film roof and laterally roll up walls, was developed in close collaboration with Prospex from India (led by horticulture consultant Mr. Ratheesh Nathamani) and Al Darmaky Contracting and Agricultural Materials from the UAE (agricultural and horticultural construction and supply company) with Mr. Yahya & Yazen Al Kodmani. The climate in the UAE poses the greatest challenge, especially from May to October, when temperatures regularly exceed the 45°C mark, and the country is influenced by a sand-laden northwest wind. The retractable roof system HS² provides growers there with the ability to adapt to changing environmental conditions and maximize their crop yields.
